Scraps of Paper Found at Land's End

Page One

starlight, starlight
just another wasted
night

Page Five
and with fire
to burn this pocked
and battered skin
to ashes
that scatter onto
the night sky and catch
moonlight and turn
into stars

Page Seven
drowned,

my lungs until they're heavy with
God and I sink into

white failing light

Page Twelve
Too much
information
Too much
substance and definition and direction
Too much
to ask from me a

barren pale desert arid
mind of choking dust
and clay

Page Fourteen
That one person that sees
it will be forever
thrown into fits of blind despair and they
will see the wound on my neck and
the purple in my lips and it will
burn into their mind, daguerreotype
that will crack and eat
their future until
someone sees the wound on their
neck and
the purple in their lips

Page Seventeen
because I said I would.

Because,
my skull would have
exploded into
black fragments of lost thoughts,
heiroglyphics scrawled on a
bathroom wall,

anyway

Inevitability.

Page Twenty
The end.

This world must be something
I created in my mind and
now my eyelids
are an off-switch and
now I want
to turn off
the power and drift
upwards on a stream
of pure light and
finally find
peace.

I put my face under the water,
and let my lungs grow
heavy with
God.

That's it.

I definitly see some sequence to these poems, though the spaces left out by the missing pages leave some room to deviate with the imagination.

I enjoyed reading this.

But I'd really appreaciate it if customers would stop calling when I'm writing a comment.
