So, here's my answer to Jesse's comment for our game. I hope this lives up to the phrase!

"When Feelings Get In The Way"

Neil,

It's so weird to me. I mean, it doesn't even feel like summer is over yet. My mom said yesterday that I need to forget about my time out in the country if it's going to affect my schoolwork. And you know what? I am worried that it will. I do not want to go to school anymore. I simply want to go back to my parent's cottage and spend another night on the beach with you, watching the stars. Do you feel that way too? I know, it's terribly insane.
My mother yelled at me for it, "you see what happens when you let boys into your heart for the summer? You see what happens when feelings get in the way?"
But yet, here I am lying on my parent's bed watching the sun set over the harbour. It's not the same though. I can't simply go there and lie on the sand. Behind a window like this, the sunsets seem cold and sterile, like they were locked in hospital rooms. I hate it.
Do you remember when I first met you in June? You came over to our cottage and said, "hi! My name is Neil. My parents live just down the road, they sent me down to tell you if you need anything, just ask." You were wearing your orange t-shirt and, to tell the truth, I thought you looked like a geek; but that's really what caught my eye. I thought all the boys from the country were tough farmer types until then.
Ah! I don't know why I'm telling you this. I'm kind of pretending that I will never mail this letter to you. But I know, in the end, I will. I do not know what you will think when you read it. I guess I'll have to accept that. I hope my thoughts aren't too scattered for you to understand. But maybe they are. I'm really confused right now and I'd just love to hear your side of this. How do you feel Neil?

All I can tell you is that I'm dreaming of both of us lying on the beach after dark, you putting your arm around mine. Nothing else.

I really hope you are well.

Your friend always,
Sarah.

Well, there you go. Thanks Jesse for once again giving a really challenging phrase to work with!

Always love,
Kalinka.
